Hey friends, it has been a while since I have given you guys any prayer requests. We have been having an incredible time in Africa, and we have worked with some amazing ministries. So today I just want to share some of the spiritual and physical needs for our time here. I am going to start with Jefferys Bay, South Africa, but I will have more coming soon, so get ready!

JBAY PRAYER REQUESTS:

1.) Global Leadership Academy – We had the joy of serving alongside GLA while we stayed in JBay. GLA’s mission is to raise up spiritual leaders in the community, and equip them to be sent out. They do this in the form of a K-12 school, as well as a leadership school for adults. They are currently trying to expand their program, so that would be where the prayer begins. If you would also pray for all of the teachers, as they seek to build kingdom within their own community.

2.) Wendy – Wendy was one of our amazing hosts in JBay, and also our adopted squad mom. Needless to say, she is amazing! Please be praying for her family, marriage, and that the Lord would continue to bring people to fill her up as she does to others.

3.) Aunri – Wow, she is the most kind! We had so much fun seeing her heart to serve as we went over and helped paint her house. It was so encouraging to watch someone our age really pour into her community! Such a great example of sacrificial love. Like I said, she is our age, and has a lot of decisions ahead of her. She is leaning on the Lord in such a beautiful way, but I think anyone my age could use prayer in that area.

4.) Anita –  She was in charge of things like driving us to get covid tests, making sure we knew what we were doing at the school, making sure we had supplies, and doing our laundry. She was so incredibly kind and took care of us in ways that just blew my mind. She was such a beautiful picture of Christ. If you could keep her family, and the steadfastness that ministry takes in your prayers. Also, if you could just pray that the Lord continues to send people to encourage her as she serves with her whole heart!

5.) Tina – Tina lived in the mission house with us, and was a former racer. She blessed with her stories, knowledge and care as we livd life alongside her. She is on fire for the Lord, and is now a full time missionary. She is serving in JBay for now, but is trying make her way back to India, or possibly Egypt.

6.) The Community – Just outside of the city is a village of squatter homes, filled with refugees, called the community. We were not allowed to go into this area of town, but we would drive by to get from one side to the next. This would honestly break my heart, and all of me wanted to go wander those dirt roads. Please keep these people in your prayers. Doing any type of outreach there Is very dangerous, due to the fact that when you walk in (especially as a white person) some form of physical provision is expected. These people deeply need the Lord, as tribal worship is their most common religion. Please pray for a sustainable way in, and for their salvation.

7.) The Town – Jefferys Bay is a stunning surf town that has lost a lot of business and suffered a good amount of lack due to covid. This town’s parties tend to get out of hand, which can leave a good amount of distraction in the community. This town needs lights coming in and shining all throughout. Please pray that those who are there sining will be encouraged by the community around them.

8.) Ladies Lighthouse – We didn’t actually get to work alongside them, but ladies lighthouse is a ministry that takes in single mothers from the community.Carla is a single mother herself, and she started this home because of a need she once faced herself. They currently have 90 children and 51 mothers living here. This place could use prayer all around. Please pray for the mothers, the kiddos, and Carla.

9.) The Isaacsons – This is another family that lived on the GLA campus where we were staying. They were a missionary family from Chile that rand an after school program called beats and books. Here they poured into the students, helping with homework, and discipling them. They are currently trying to go back to Chile for a time, so please pray as they travel. But also, please pray for their ministry in JBay. they are so loved in the community, and it was such a blessing to watch a family that is truly surrendered.

10.) First Light – This is a local coffee shop that does an amazing job at sharing the good news. They are so intentional with their business, making sure each component furthers the Kingdom. Please join me in prayer over their community outreach, and just that they will keep their passion to share God’s goodness!

There you have it folks, ten things that deeply need our devotion to prayer. Thank you all so much for taking this journey and making it your own. Thank yo for partnering with me, and the Lord to further the Kingdom clear acrid the world! Love you all, and I’ll talk with you soon!

Love, Ken

Here is our L-Squad Christmas photo to brighten your day. Yep it’s a little late, but I love these people a whole ton!

  1. Thank you for pointing out these prayer needs! Even though you’ve been off the race a month now, your words still have impact! Dear God, You know the needs of each of these people and their ministries. Thank you that Your Spirit leads each of us into all truth, You never leave or forsake us, and you are our provider for all things. We thank you that you WILL provide those necessary things. In Jesus’ name amen.
